# GTA 6 Original Score by Justice vs The Album: what's different, and what we know so far
> Rockstar now has two official GTA 6 music releases: a 34-track album of various artists on launch day, and a 30-track Justice score three weeks later. Here's what each one is, what's confirmed and which one is for you.

GTA 6 will have two soundtracks you can buy, and they aren't the same thing. One arrives with the game. The other turns up three weeks later.
On **October 29, 2026**, Rockstar announced ***Grand Theft Auto VI: Original Score***, composed by **Justice**, the Grammy-winning duo of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay. It releases on **December 11, 2026** with **30 tracks** plus digital bonus tracks, on streaming, CD and vinyl. It's separate from ***Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album***, the 34-track collection of songs by various artists that comes out on **November 19** alongside the game.
The distinction matters if you're pre-ordering records or pre-saving on a streaming service. The Album is the star-studded, multi-genre showcase. The Score is the music Justice wrote to play underneath Jason and Lucia's story. Rockstar released a new single, **"Pusher" featuring Gesaffelstein**, on the same day it made the announcement.

## What is the GTA 6 Original Score by Justice?
The Original Score is the game's own composed music, the cues that run under missions and moments in Leonida, collected as an album. Rockstar's music page calls it an **"adaptive score"**, with compositions "dynamically tuned" to how you play through Jason and Lucia's story in Vice City and the rest of the state.
Rockstar says it "hand-selected" Justice and worked closely with the duo, according to Neowin and The Music Universe. Xavier de Rosnay described the brief to Paste in loose terms: "We were given the freedom to explore as many things as we needed to, musically speaking."
The release comes through **Because Music, Ed Banger and Rockstar Games**. That's a proper record-label release, not a download tucked into a game edition, and that explains why it's getting a full vinyl and CD rollout.
## GTA 6 Original Score vs The Album: what's different
The easiest way to keep the two releases apart is to look at who made them and when they arrive.

VGC names Travis Scott, Keith Richards, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, PinkPantheress and Yung Lean among the Album's artists. Paste adds Fred again.., SZA, Cardi B, Metro Boomin, Future, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and others, and says some names are still unannounced. Earlier Album singles include Morgan Wallen's "Last Thing You Need" and Fuerza Regida's "Suzuku".
The Score is narrower and darker, if Pusher is a guide. VGC says it "will mainly consist of instrumental tracks", though the two songs released so far both have big-name guests. ## What's on the Score so far
Only two tracks have been named, and they point in different directions.
### Pusher (feat. Gesaffelstein)
Released on **October 29**, "Pusher" runs over seven minutes, according to Paste, which calls it "pulsing, dark-hearted". A seven-minute track suits a score album better than a radio station. Our read is that it gives a better idea of the Score's mood than the more chart-friendly single that came before it.
### Flower In A Hurricane
"Flower In A Hurricane", Justice's collaboration with **Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard**, arrived around the October 15 launch trailer, which MonsterVine says features new Justice music. Rockstar's music page lists the song under both the Score and The Album. Rockstar hasn't said whether the two are the same version.
The song has also done well commercially. The Music Universe says it was Justice's first non-feature song on the Billboard Hot 100, and Paste says it gave King Gizzard their first Hot 100 entry this week.
## How the score works in the game
"Adaptive" is the important word. Neowin paraphrases Rockstar's wording as music that constantly reacts to what the player does. Rockstar hasn't shown how that plays out in specific situations.
That raises a fair question about the album: how much of the roughly three hours reported by Paste you'll actually hear in the game. Rockstar hasn't said whether all 30 tracks, or any of the bonus tracks, play in GTA 6. Adaptive scores are usually built from layers that the game mixes in real time, so the album versions may be arranged for listening rather than lifted straight from the game files. ## GTA 6 Original Score price, vinyl and CD pre-orders
Pre-orders and streaming pre-saves are open now through the official link on Rockstar's music page and in VGC's report. There are three physical versions:

- **3-LP black vinyl**
- **Limited 3-LP "crystal clear" vinyl**
Rockstar and the labels haven't published official prices. US retailer Rough Trade lists these:

Rough Trade lists dispatch for **December 11–12**, so delivered copies will arrive after release day, not on it. It also offers **10% off** if you buy the Score and The Album together. Amazon US lists the black 3LP with a UV gloss finish and bonus content. We haven't seen UK, EU or other regional pricing.
The digital bonus tracks are "included across all formats", in Rockstar's words as quoted by VGC. Physical buyers should get them too, though Rockstar hasn't said how. An early Apple Music listing shows "50 songs, 10 minutes" with placeholder titles. That's almost certainly a placeholder, so ignore it.
## Why does the score arrive three weeks after launch?
Rockstar hasn't explained the **22-day gap** between November 19 and December 11. Our read: putting The Album out first keeps launch-day attention on the star-studded songs, and releasing the Score afterwards lets players hear the music in context before it goes on the turntable. It also lands on a Friday a couple of weeks before the holidays, which is good timing for record sales.
Rockstar has released GTA score music before. According to Wikipedia, **GTA V was the first GTA game to use an original score**, and its music later appeared on releases including *The Music of GTA V* (2013), *Welcome to Los Santos* (2015), Health's *GTA Online: Arena War* (2019) and *DāM-FunK Presents The Music of GTA Online Original Score* (December 2023). Rockstar also released a *Max Payne 3* soundtrack in 2012.
Set against that history, the GTA VI release is framed as an artist album in its own right. Rockstar's page credits Justice as the composer, the record goes out through Because Music and Ed Banger alongside Rockstar, and a 2CD and two 3LP vinyl pressings were open for pre-order before the game is even out. Whether any of that is new for Rockstar isn't something the available records settle, but it's clearly being sold as more than a soundtrack spin-off.
## What we still don't know
Several details are still open, and Rockstar hasn't addressed any of them yet:
- The full Score tracklist. Only "Pusher" and "Flower In A Hurricane" are named.
- How many digital bonus tracks there are.
- Official prices in any region.
- How much of the Score plays in-game, and in what form.
- Whether "Flower In A Hurricane" is identical on both albums.
- Physical editions of The Album, though Rough Trade's bundle offer suggests one exists.
- Whether more of the Score will stream before December 11.

## Which one should you get?
If you want the songs released on launch day, with the big names, get **The Album on November 19**. If you care more about the mood of the missions, long instrumental electronic tracks or a three-record set for the shelf, the **Score on December 11** is the one to get. Vinyl buyers interested in the crystal clear pressing should move early, since Rough Trade limits it to two per customer.
