Every GTA since 2001 has shipped with a way to summon a tank, and every one of them has been searched for long before anyone could type it in.
**No GTA 6 cheat codes have been confirmed yet.** GTA 6 launches on **November 19, 2026**, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and until it does, nobody outside Rockstar knows what the codes are or how you'll enter them. The "full GTA 6 cheat lists" ranking on other sites are invented, mostly by relabeling GTA 5's codes.
This page does three things instead. It tells you exactly what's known, shows you how to spot a fake list in seconds, and gives you **every GTA 5 cheat with its PS5, Xbox and phone code**, the closest thing to a preview of GTA 6's. Real codes go in the table below from launch day, in 12 days, each with a named source.
**GTA 6 cheats: where things stand**
| | |
|---|---|
| Confirmed GTA 6 cheats | None yet |
| Will GTA 6 have cheats? | Likely, based on every GTA since GTA 3 (expected) |
| How to enter them | Not announced. GTA 5 used button combos and phone numbers |
| Platforms | PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. No PC version announced |
| Money cheat | None confirmed. GTA 5 never had one |
| Online play | Cheats have never worked online |
| Real codes added | From launch day, November 19, 2026 |
## GTA 6 cheat codes list
This is where every confirmed GTA 6 cheat will go, with its PS5 code, Xbox code and what it does. **A code is only added once Rockstar confirms it or a named, reliable outlet reports it working on both consoles.**
| Cheat | Effect | PS5 | Xbox Series X\|S |
|---|---|---|---|
| *None confirmed yet* | Real codes are added from November 19, 2026 | | |
An empty table isn't the answer anyone wants, but it's the honest one. Any page showing a full GTA 6 code list today is guessing, and you'll find out the hard way when nothing happens on launch night.
## Are GTA 6 cheat lists real? How to spot a fake
GTABoom, which tracks the claims, says plainly that no GTA 6 cheats have been confirmed. Before launch, you can treat every list as fake, but these signs will still help you after November 19, when real and invented codes start mixing:
- **It was published before November 19, 2026.** No one outside Rockstar had the game.
- **The codes start with 1-999.** That's GTA 5's phone cheat format, copied across.
- **The button combos match GTA 5's.** Compare them with the tables below. Plenty of "GTA 6 cheats" are identical.
- **It includes a money cheat.** GTA 5 never had one. Our [GTA 6 money cheat guide](/gta-6-money-cheat/) explains why one is unlikely.
- **It asks you to download something.** Console cheats are typed into the game. A "cheat tool" or "mod menu" for PS5 or Xbox is a scam.
- **There's no source or date.** A trustworthy list says who confirmed each code and when.
## Will GTA 6 have cheat codes?
Probably, though Rockstar hasn't confirmed it. Cheats have appeared in **every main Grand Theft Auto game since GTA 3**, and Rockstar kept them in GTA 5 even as the series moved toward realism. Red Dead Redemption 2 had them too, unlocked through in-game newspapers.
There's one reason for caution. GTA 6 is Rockstar's most grounded game yet, with a two-protagonist story, a reworked police system and an economy where previews say carried cash can be lost. Our read: that makes cheats that skip progress less likely, not cheats in general. Spawning a car or turning on moon gravity doesn't break any of that.
## How cheats worked in GTA 5
GTA 5 gave you two ways to enter a cheat in story mode, and GTA 6 may borrow either:
1. **Button combinations.** Enter a sequence quickly during play. A "Cheat activated" message confirms it worked.
2. **Phone numbers.** Open the in-game phone (Up on the D-pad), go to Contacts, choose the keypad and dial the number. Numbers worked the same on every platform, and each spelled a word on the keypad.
Some cheats lasted until you turned them off; invincibility only lasted five minutes. Most couldn't be used during missions, and using any cheat turned off trophies and achievements for that session, so it's worth saving first.
## Every GTA 5 cheat for PS5, Xbox and phone
Until GTA 6's codes are known, these are the best guide to what's coming. They work in GTA 5's story mode on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One today. **They are GTA 5 codes, not GTA 6 codes.** PlayStation codes come from GTABase's list; Xbox codes use the matching Xbox buttons (Cross is A, Circle is B, Square is X, Triangle is Y, L1 and R1 are LB and RB, L2 and R2 are LT and RT).

## What cheats to expect in GTA 6
Based on GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, these are the kinds of cheats most likely to appear, if Rockstar includes them:
- **Health and armor**, a staple of every 3D-era GTA
- **Invincibility**, possibly time-limited like GTA 5's five-minute version
- **Weapons and ammo** in one go
- **Wanted level controls**, which may behave differently with GTA 6's new police system
- **Vehicle spawns**, quite possibly Leonida-flavored ones like airboats and speedboats
- **World effects** like weather, slow motion and low gravity
- **Fun cheats** such as explosive punches and super jump
What's unlikely: a money cheat, anything that works online, or cheats that unlock story progress.
## GTA 6 cheats on PS5 vs Xbox
In GTA 5, button cheats used the same sequence on both consoles, just with each platform's button names, while phone cheats were identical everywhere. If GTA 6 follows that pattern, **one code will work on both PS5 and Xbox**, and we'll list both versions side by side. Haven't picked a console? See [GTA 6 on PS5 vs Xbox Series X](/gta-6-ps5-vs-xbox-series-x/).
## Fake GTA 6 cheat apps, generators and mod menus
Fake cheat lists waste your time. Fake cheat *software* can cost you your accounts. Any app, website or file that promises to unlock GTA 6 cheats, add money or install a mod menu on PS5 or Xbox is a scam, because console games can't be changed by a download from a website.
These tend to follow the same playbook as fake game downloads: surveys to "unlock" a code, requests for your Rockstar, PlayStation or Xbox password, and phone apps that only serve ads. Our [GTA 6 free download guide](/gta-6-download/) explains how the scams work and what to do if you've fallen for one. The simple rule: **a real cheat code is free and needs no download.**
## When will real GTA 6 cheats be found?
If GTA 6 has traditional cheats, players usually find them within hours or days of launch, sometimes from Rockstar itself. Here's how we'll handle it:
1. **From November 19**, we'll check every code that gets reported.
2. **Each code needs a named source** confirming it on PS5 and Xbox before it's added.
3. **The page is dated**, so you can see when it last changed.
While you wait, here's [exactly when GTA 6 unlocks in your time zone](/gta-6-release-time/) and [how to preload it](/gta-6-preload/) from November 10.
## The short version
There are no confirmed GTA 6 cheat codes yet, and any list published before **November 19, 2026** is guesswork, usually GTA 5's codes relabeled. Cheats are likely, based on every GTA since GTA 3, and GTA 5's cheats above show what to expect: health, weapons, wanted levels, vehicles and world effects, with no money cheat. Real GTA 6 codes for PS5 and Xbox will be added here from launch day, each with a named source.
## Frequently asked questions
### Are there cheat codes in GTA 6?
None have been confirmed yet. Rockstar hasn't announced GTA 6 cheats, and the game doesn't launch until November 19, 2026. Cheats have appeared in every main GTA game since GTA 3, so they're likely, but the real codes won't be known until launch.
### Are the GTA 6 cheat code lists online real?
No. Nobody outside Rockstar has played the finished game, so any list of GTA 6 codes published before November 19, 2026 is invented. Most are GTA 5 codes with a new title.
### How do you enter cheats in GTA 6?
Rockstar hasn't said. GTA 5 let you enter cheats as button combinations on the controller or by dialing a number on the in-game phone. GTA 6 could use either method, or something new.
### Do GTA 5 cheats work in GTA 6?
There's no reason to think so. Every GTA game has used its own codes, so GTA 5's button combos and 1-999 phone numbers are a preview of the kind of cheats to expect, not working GTA 6 codes.
### Do cheats disable trophies in GTA 6?
That isn't confirmed for GTA 6. In GTA 5, using a cheat turned off trophies and achievements for that play session, so it's sensible to save before using any cheats once GTA 6 is out.
### Is there a GTA 6 money cheat?
No GTA 6 money cheat has been confirmed, and GTA 5 never had one. A cheat list that offers infinite money is almost certainly fake.
### Will GTA 6 cheats work online?
Cheat codes have never worked in GTA Online. GTA 6 has no online mode at launch, and third-party 'mod menus' that claim to add cheats break Rockstar's rules and can get accounts banned.
