Cars have always been at the heart of Grand Theft Auto, and GTA 6 has plenty. Between the trailers and the 26-minute extended gameplay look, fans have identified somewhere between 150 and 200 vehicles, depending on how they count, from muscle cars and supercars to trucks, bikes, boats and airboats.

Rockstar hasn’t published an official vehicle list, so everything here comes from what’s visible in its own footage. The real-world comparisons are fan identifications, since Rockstar never names the real cars its designs are based on.

Vapid Dorado SUV Ford SUV Extended look

These are some of the most recognizable vehicles, but they’re only a small part of what’s been spotted. Fan trackers have catalogued well over 100 more, from everyday sedans to delivery vans.

GTA 6 car brands

As in every GTA, all the brands in GTA 6 are fictional parodies of real manufacturers. Brands spotted so far include:

GTA brand Real-world inspiration
Vapid Ford
Bravado Dodge
Declasse Chevrolet
Albany Cadillac and Lincoln
Grotti Ferrari
Pegassi Lamborghini
Pfister Porsche
Benefactor Mercedes-Benz
Schyster Chrysler
Invetero Chevrolet Corvette
Imponte Pontiac
Brute and JoBuilt Trucks and commercial vehicles

Most of these will be familiar to GTA 5 players, so expect updated versions of classic models alongside brand-new ones.

Muscle cars and lowriders

Leonida’s Florida setting is a great fit for muscle cars, and they’re everywhere in the footage. The Declasse Tulip M-100, shown lowered outside a customization shop in Trailer 1, has become a fan favorite, and returning muscle brands Vapid, Bravado, Declasse and Imponte all appear.

Supercars and sports cars

At the high end, the Grotti Cheetah is back in both modern and classic forms, with the classic Cheetah’s Testarossa styling a clear nod to the 1980s Miami vibe. The Pfister Comet appears as a convertible, perfect for Vice City’s waterfront.

Trucks, SUVs and everyday cars

Big trucks like the JoBuilt Phantom and Brute models appear on Leonida’s highways, and pickups like the Vapid Bobcat XL and SUVs like the Vapid Dorado suggest a lot of rural and small-town traffic, especially around Ambrosia and Port Gellhorn.

Police and emergency vehicles

The extended look shows a reworked police presence, including the Bravado Buffalo STX Pursuit police car. Fans have also spotted a police cruiser, sheriff SUV, ambulance and fire truck. With GTA 6’s wanted level reportedly reaching six stars, expect a lot more police vehicles once you’re in trouble.

Boats, jet skis and airboats

Water plays a much bigger role in GTA 6 than in GTA 5, thanks to Leonida’s coastline, the Keys and the Grassrivers wetlands:

  • Boats of all sizes along the coast and around Vice City’s port
  • Jet skis off the beaches
  • Airboats across the swamps of Grassrivers, one of the first vehicles Rockstar showed
  • Kayaks, confirmed as a side activity

For getting around the islands of the Leonida Keys, boats may often be faster than cars. See where everything is on our interactive GTA 6 map.

Motorbikes and scooters

Motorbikes appear throughout the trailers, and dirt bike racing is a confirmed side activity. Scooters were shown around Vice City in the extended look, a fitting choice for the beachfront.

Planes and helicopters

Aircraft haven’t been shown in much detail yet. Given that every recent GTA has included planes and helicopters, and Leonida has plenty of open space, they’re very likely, but we’ll wait for launch to confirm which ones.

Car customization

Trailer 1 shows a lowered car parked outside a customization shop, and customization has been a major feature of every recent GTA. Rockstar hasn’t detailed GTA 6’s options yet. Expect paint, wheels, suspension and performance upgrades at minimum, and possibly more, given how much Rockstar has expanded customization in GTA Online.

How we’ll track GTA 6 cars after launch

When GTA 6 launches, we’ll build out a full vehicle guide based on actually playing the game:

  1. Every car, bike, boat and aircraft, with its brand and class
  2. Where to find rare cars, added to our interactive map
  3. The fastest cars in each class, once they can be tested
  4. Customization options for each vehicle

Bookmark this page and check back after November 19.

Can you spawn cars with cheats?

In GTA 5, phone cheats could spawn vehicles like the Buzzard helicopter and the Comet. GTA 6 cheats haven’t been confirmed yet. See our GTA 6 cheat codes page for GTA 5’s vehicle spawn cheats and updates on GTA 6.

Driving and police: your car can give you away

GTA 6’s wanted system reportedly tracks what you drive as well as what you wear. If police see your getaway car, switching to a different vehicle may help you lose them, while staying in the same car keeps you on their radar. That makes stealing a fresh car mid-chase a real tactic rather than just a habit.

This is based on coverage of the extended look. The exact rules will become clear at launch.

How driving feels compared with GTA 5

In the extended look, cars appear heavier and more grounded than in GTA 5:

  • Suspension reacts more visibly to bumps, curbs and jumps.
  • Damage looks more detailed, with dents and broken parts that build up.
  • Traffic is denser, especially in Vice City, so fast driving through the city takes more care.
  • Weather and surfaces matter more, with wet roads and dirt tracks across Leonida.

It’s not a full simulation, but it’s a clear step toward the weight of Red Dead Redemption 2’s horses and wagons.

Owning, storing and customizing cars

Rockstar hasn’t detailed how car ownership works in GTA 6’s story mode. Based on GTA 5, expect:

  • Personal vehicles for each protagonist
  • Garages at safehouses to store cars you keep
  • Customization shops for paint, wheels and performance, like the one shown in Trailer 1

We’ll confirm all of this, and map every garage and customization shop on our interactive GTA 6 map, after launch.

Classic GTA cars that may return

GTA brings back familiar models in almost every game, updated for the setting. The Grotti Cheetah and Pfister Comet have already been spotted in GTA 6, and both go back to the early 3D-era games. Fans are hoping for more Vice City classics, but until a model appears in Rockstar’s footage, treat it as a wish rather than a confirmation.

GTA 6 vehicle classes to expect

Based on the footage and on GTA 5’s lineup, GTA 6’s vehicles are likely to fall into these classes:

Class Examples spotted or expected
Supercars and sports cars Grotti Cheetah, Pfister Comet
Muscle cars Declasse Tulip M-100, Bravado models
Sedans and coupes Everyday Vice City traffic
SUVs and pickups Vapid Dorado, Vapid Bobcat XL
Trucks and commercial JoBuilt Phantom, Brute vans
Emergency Bravado Buffalo STX Pursuit, ambulances, fire trucks
Motorbikes and scooters Dirt bikes, Vice City scooters
Boats Speedboats, jet skis, airboats, kayaks
Aircraft Expected, not yet shown in detail

We’ll fill in every class with full lists, stats and locations once GTA 6 is out.

Where the real-car comparisons come from

Rockstar never says which real car a GTA vehicle is based on, partly to avoid trademark problems. The comparisons on this page come from fans matching body shapes, grilles, lights and badges to real models. Most are obvious, like the Pfister Comet’s Porsche 911 profile, but treat less clear matches as educated guesses.

The bottom line

Fans have spotted roughly 150 to 200 vehicles in GTA 6’s footage so far, including the Grotti Cheetah, Pfister Comet, Declasse Tulip M-100, Bravado Buffalo STX and JoBuilt Phantom, plus boats, jet skis and airboats for Leonida’s waterways. All brands are fictional parodies, like Vapid (Ford) and Grotti (Ferrari). Rockstar hasn’t published an official vehicle list yet.
